Campus-Wide Hazing Prevention Program
Lincoln Memorial University is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and respectful campus environment for all students. Our Comprehensive Campus-Wide Hazing Prevention Program reflects this commitment and is fully aligned with federal regulations, as outlined in the Stop Campus Hazing Act.
Hazing Policy & Adjudication Process
LMU’s Hazing Policy, found in the Railsplitter Community Standards Guide, strictly prohibits all forms of hazing. Reports of hazing will be investigated promptly and thoroughly by the Office of Community Standards. Adjudication follows a fair, transparent, and timely process, ensuring that all parties involved are heard and that appropriate sanctions are administered to those found responsible for hazing violations.
Online Hazing Prevention Training for Students
As part of our proactive prevention efforts, all LMU students—at every enrollment level—are required to complete an online Hazing Prevention Training module. This interactive, evidence-based training equips students with the knowledge to recognize hazing behaviors, understand their role in prevention, and report concerning conduct safely.
In-Depth Training for Student Groups and Organizations
Beyond our baseline training, LMU provides comprehensive, tailored Hazing Prevention Training for all clubs, organizations, and student groups, including athletic teams. Designed in collaboration with University General Counsel and The University Clery Compliance Officer, this training dives deeper into creating positive team cultures, bystander intervention, peer accountability, and fostering belonging without hazing.
Supportive Resources and Mental Health Counseling
LMU prioritizes the well-being of all students who have experienced hazing. Confidential mental health counseling is available through LMU’s Office of Mental Health Counseling Services to support those impacted. Students are encouraged to reach out to trained professionals who can help them process their experience and navigate any emotional distress they may encounter.
